How to preach the gospel in 4 steps

Feel free to share, modify, adapt this document however you wish. Self-made soulwinning script, developed for new soulwinners.

Soulwinning in 4 steps - How to preach the gospel by Revelation 1611 (with script). - Step 1 – Sin, Step 2 – Hell, Step 3 – The gospel (the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as full payment for our sins), Step 4 – Salvation by faith alone without works – Once saved, always saved (chastisement and rewards)/ asking Jesus for salvation.

- Explanations -

Step 1 – show the person that we’re all sinners (Romans 3 :23, *Romans 3 :10) – give a list of common sins, such as lying, stealing or coveting (we’re all guilty of those). *To sin is to break or transgress God’s commandments (His law set forth in the Holy Bible).

Step 2 – Show that the price (or penalty, or consequence) for sin is hell (the lake of fire, which is the second death) (Romans 6 :23a, Revelation 21:8) – this is not only a physical death, but also a second death in hell) – All liars… shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. And we’ve all done worse things than lying – therefore we all deserve hell as a punishment (or consequence) for our sins.

Step 3 – Show that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried and rose again the third day (1Corinthians 15 :3-4, Romans 5 :8) in order to pay (or atone) for all of our sins and to save us from hell. He is the propitiation (or payment) for our sins, and the only way to heaven.

Step 4 – Show that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ – apart from our works (Ephesians 2 :8-9, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9, 13). Give a list of common things people think will make them earn salvation, such as : turning away from sin, baptism, church attendance, keeping the commandments, being a good person, etc. and explain that none of those things (or works) can make us earn salvation. It is a gift, paid for by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, which we must freely receive by faith. The only thing we must do to be saved is to ask Him for salvation by believing and trusting in Him alone as our Savior. Then lead the person to pray to receive Christ once and for all (calling on the name of the Lord).

- Script -

Romans 3 :23 – (1-All have sinned) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (this means we’re all sinners) – So we’ve all lied, stolen, or coveted something …

Romans 6 :23 … (2-The punishment for sin) - And the bible says there’s a consequence (or punishment) for our sins – For the wages of sin is death… This is not just a physical death but also a second death in hell… Revelation 21 :8 - And all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. So we’re all guilty, right? – Yes. We’ve all lied before, and we’ve all done worse sins than lying. So we all deserve hell as a punishment (or consequence) for our sins (sin = death = lake of fire).

Romans 6 :23b (3-The gospel) But there’s good news … The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – So you know who Jesus is, right? – He’s the Son of God. – Yes, and He’s also God manifest in the flesh. 1Corinthians 15 :3-4 – The bible says that Christ died for our sins, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day in order to pay for all of our sins and to save us from hell. This means He bore our punishment and became our substitute – He suffered the death we all deserve because of our sins. Every sin we’ve ever committed were laid on Jesus and it’s just as if He had done them Himself (He is the propitiation (or payment) for our sins – (For the wages of sin is death...).

Romans 6 :23b – Ephesians 2 :8-9 (4 - Saved by faith (not by works) - Once saved, always saved - chastisement and rewards). Moreover, the Bible says that salvation is a gift – For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. So who pays for that gift? – The giver (God) – And is there anything you must do to earn a gift, or is a gift free? No, it’s free - so because salvation is a gift, and gifts are always free, we don’t have to give anything in return- it’s not of works, not of our own doing – We are not saved because we’ve turned from all of our sins, or because we’ve joined a church, or because we’ve been baptized, or because we keep the commandments or do good things, but simply because we've believed (or put our faith and trust) in Jesus alone and in His finished work on the cross.

Romans 10 :9- The one thing the Bible says we must do to be saved is … That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus (if you ask Him to save you), and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. So, once you’re saved, you’re saved for ever and you become a child of God. Now if you do good things after you’re saved, God will bless you, and if you commit sins, God will discipline (or correct) you on this earth, but there’s nothing you can do to go to hell because you’re saved (all of your sins are paid for and covered by the blood of Jesus – you are forgiven - because He died for all of your sins: past, present, and future). This is called the ‘’eternal security of the believer’’.

So, I have a couple questions for you– Do you believe that we’re all sinners? - Yes - (1John 1 :8) - Do you believe that we all deserve hell? - Yes - (Rev 21 :8, Rom. 3:4) - Do you believe that Jesus died, was buried and rose again to pay for all of your sins? - Yes - (1John 2 :2) - What do you believe a person must do in order to be saved? - Believe (or trust) in Jesus - (Acts 16 :31). - Is believing (or relying) on Jesus alone good enough or do you also have to be a good person and do good works, etc.? - Believing is enough (Rom. 4 :5-6).- Is there anything you can do to lose salvation ? - No - (John 10 :28, John 3:16). - What do you personally believe about what we’ve just talked about? Does it make sense? - Yes, I believe it.

Alright, so if you’re sincere, I would like to lead you in a prayer in order to ask Jesus to save you (prayer doesn’t save you, you must also believe this in your heart) -  so all you have to do is repeat after me : Dear Jesus, I know I’m a sinner, and I deserve to go to hell, but I believe that you died on the cross for me, was buried, and rose again, to pay for all of my sins. Please, save me right now, and give me eternal life. I’m trusting you alone as my Savior – apart from my works. Thanks for saving me, Amen.'' - You meant that, right? - Yes - So that's it, you are saved! Please share this document!
