The 6 core points of the gospel - The skeleton of the gospel

st point - We're all sinners - (everybody is a sinner - we've all lied, stolen or coveted something. Everybody is guilty of breaking God's law. (Romans 3:10, 3:23)

nd point - We all deserve hell - (one lie is enough to condemn us all to hell forever. And we know that we've all lied, and we've all done worse things than lying, therefore we all deserve hell because of our sins). (Romans 6:23a, Revelation 21:8)

rd point - Christ died, was buried and rose again from the dead in order to pay for all of our sins and to save us from hell (He bore our punishment and made a complete payment for our sins - past, present and future sins). (Romans 5:8, 1Peter 2:24, 1Corinthians 15:3-4).

th point - Salvation is by trusting Christ alone as Savior - it's by grace through faith, not by works. Salvation is based solely on the payment that Christ made for our sins. It's not based on our good works or efforts. We cannot earn it. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 4:5-6, 11:6)

th point - Salvation is eternal - Once you are saved, you are saved forever. You cannot lose salvation for any reason because all of your sins, past, present and future are covered and paid for by the blood of Jesus from the moment that you've trusted Him alone as Savior. Now, if you do good things, God will bless you (rewards, etc.) and if you do bad things, God will correct (or chastise) you but you can no longer go to hell because you are saved. Your punishment will come only in this life time and you can never lose it. It's based on God's promise and not on your own faithfulness.

th point - We are saved the moment we call upon the name of the Lord (by asking Jesus to save us). Believing in our hearts that Jesus died, was buried and rose again and asking Him to save us go hand in hand. The moment ask Him to save us with believing, we are saved forever. Asking Jesus to save us is an expression of faith
