Scriptures on spiritual warfare

You can be afflicted by demons because of sin (backsliding, coming out of church, etc.)
Jm 4 :6-8, 10, °But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but
giveth grace unto the humble.’ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he
will flee from you.’ Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye
sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.'° Humble yourselves in the sight of the
Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Eph. 6 :10-18!° Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his

might.'' Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil.'? For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high

places.!? Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.'* Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;'° And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;'® Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall
be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.!’ And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:'® Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for
all saints;

, 2Cor. 10 :3-6° For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:* (For the
weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds;)° Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;° And
having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

, [Peter 5 :8-10° Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:? Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that
the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.'° But the God of
all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered
a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

, 2Th. 3 :1-33 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course,
and be glorified, even as it is with you:? And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and
wicked men: for all men have not faith.? But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and
keep you from evil.

, 2Tm. 3 :10-17!° But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith,
longsuffering, charity, patience,!! Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at
Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered

me.!? Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.!* But evil men
and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.'* But continue thou
in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast
learned them;!> And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to
make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.'° All scripture is given
by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: '’ That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good
works.

, 2Tm 4 :14-18 4 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him
according to his works:!° Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our
words.'° At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it
may not be laid to their charge.'’ Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened
me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I
was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.!* And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil
work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever.
Amen.

Ga. 5 :16-25'° This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the
flesh.'’ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are
contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.!* But if ye be led
of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.!? Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are
these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,~? Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,
variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,7! Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past,
that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” But the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.”* And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the
affections and lusts.”° If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”° Let us not be
desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

, Eph 4 :20-27°° But ye have not so learned Christ;7! If so be that ye have heard him, and have
been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:*” That ye put off concerning the former
conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;7? And be renewed
in the spirit of your mind;”* And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.” Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with
his neighbour: for we are members one of another.”° Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun
go down upon your wrath:’ Neither give place to the devil.

, Eph 5 :18!8 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

, Luke 11 : 2-4, 13 7 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in
heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in
earth.* Give us day by day our daily bread.* And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every
one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. !° If ye
then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your
heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Mt 26 :41*! Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but
the flesh is weak.

, Jn 5 :39° Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they
which testify of me.

, Jn 8 :31-323! Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my
word, then are ye my disciples indeed;*? And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you free.

, Rm 12 :1-2I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” And be
not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. '* Rejoicing in hope; patient
in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

, Php. 4 :88 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think
on these things.

, Heb 12 :1-212 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us
run with patience the race that is set before us,” Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of
our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

, Jam 1 :2-5? My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;? Knowing this,
that the trying of your faith worketh patience.‘ But let patience have her perfect work, that ye
may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,
that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

, Rm 5 :1-5Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ:? By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in
hope of the glory of God.? And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that
tribulation worketh patience;* And patience, experience; and experience, hope:* And hope
maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost
which is given unto us.

, 2Ch. 7 :14'4 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Pro. 28 :13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh
them shall have mercy.

, 1Jn. 1 :77 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.’ If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.,
1Jn 3 :22 ? And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments,
and do those things that are pleasing in his sight., 1Jn. 5 :14-15'* And this is the confidence
that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:!° And if we
know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired
of him.

, Col 3 : 15-17 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called
in one body; and be ye thankful.'® Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with
grace in your hearts to the Lord. !7 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name
of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Is. 54:17 No weapon formed against thee shall prosper.
