The simple gospel - How to receive eternal life (tract)
How
to receive eternal life – Step 1 - Admit that you’re a sinner. First of all,
the Bible says that we’re all sinners - For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God. We’ve all lied, stolen, or coveted something – and the
Bible says there’s a consequence for our sins - For the wages of sin is death…
And all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death. (And we know that we’ve all lied
before - and we’ve all done worse things than lying - therefore we all deserve
hell because of our sins).
Step
2 - Believe the gospel. But the good news is that God loves us and He doesn’t
want us to go to hell to be punished for our sins. That’s why He sent His Son
Jesus Christ to be the propitiation (or payment) for our sins. Jesus is the Son
of God (and He’s also God manifest in the flesh). Jesus bore our sins in His own
body on the cross, and He was buried, and He rose again from the dead
in order to pay for all of our sins and to save us from hell - (He bore our
punishment in our place). But God commendeth His love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Step
3 - Receive Christ as Savior (Ask Him to save you). The Bible says that
salvation is simply by believing in or trusting in Christ alone. Acts
chapter 16 verse 31 says - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved. Salvation is not based on our good works or efforts (we cannot
earn it) – it is based solely on Christ’s payment for our sins - For
by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves : it is the
gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. (Salvation is
only by God’s grace (by His unmerited favor) through faith in Jesus Christ).
If
you’re reading this message and you desire to be saved, you must admit that you
are a sinner, and you must stop trusting in everything you previously thought
could save you (such as: being a good person, or going to church, or being
baptized, or keeping the commandments, or turning away from sin) and you must
simply depend upon Jesus’ finished work alone for your salvation – by receiving
His death, His burial and His resurrection as the complete payment for your
sins. If you believe that He did it for you - you will be saved. That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus (if you ask Him to save
you), and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
be saved.
Salvation
is a single event so that’s why you only need to receive it once. The moment
you put your trust in Christ alone as Savior, you receive forgiveness for all
of your sins (past, present and future sins) and eternal life. Eternal life is
a gift that will last forever and that you cannot ever lose for any reason. In
hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world
began. Once you are saved, you’re saved forever and you become a child
of God. Now, if you do good things, God will bless you, and if you commit sins,
God will correct you - but your punishment will come only in this lifetime. You
can no longer go to hell because you’re saved - and all of your sins are paid
for and covered by the blood of Jesus. It is God’s promise - He
that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. Simply ask Jesus to
save you and He will do it – say ‘’Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner, and I
deserve to go to hell, but I believe that you died on the cross and rose again
to pay for all of my sins. Save me right now and give me eternal life. I’m
trusting in you alone as my Savior – and not in my good works or religion.
Thanks for saving me. Amen’’. If you are sincere, you have received the
gift of eternal life. Congrats. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 (KJV)). Please share and make copies -
